A radiator can be a deliberate feature in the room. The Aura 2 Column Vertical Radiator 1800mm x 470mm Matt Black has the broadest body of the vertical two-column sizes here, giving its traditional column form a more prominent place on the wall.
The 470mm width is worth considering when a narrower model would look lost in the available space. Its matt black finish works particularly well as a visual anchor alongside timber furniture, neutral walls or dark metal details. The two-column arrangement and 1800mm height create a defined, upright silhouette; allow for the complete fitted width, including your chosen connections, when setting out the position.
Matching radiator feet
We recommend buying matching 2-column feet to help support the weight of this radiator and reduce strain on the wall. Choose feet confirmed for this exact Aura and follow the approved mounting instructions.
Choosing the size
Use the confirmed heat output and a room heat-loss calculation to choose the radiator; body dimensions alone do not establish heating capacity. This mild steel central-heating model carries a 5-year warranty, subject to terms.
Radiator Valves: Not included. Please check our Radiator Valve Buying Guide to select suitable valves.

Q1. What should I measure before ordering the 470mm-wide Aura?
A1. The radiator body measures 1800mm high x 470mm wide. Allow additional space for the selected valves, connections, mounting clearances and access. Measure the usable wall area and nearby doors or furniture before ordering.
Q2. How does this size compare with the narrower 2-column models?
A2. The Aura range includes Aura 1800mm-high vertical models in 380mm, 425mm and 470mm widths, in both 2-column and 3-column versions. This listing is specifically the 2-column, 470mm-wide model; compare verified outputs and mounting dimensions before selecting.
Q3. Do matching feet remove the need for wall restraint?
A3. We advise buying matching 2-column radiator feet to help support the radiator’s weight and reduce strain on the wall. Confirm the feet suit this exact Aura model and follow the installation instructions for wall restraint.
Q4. Is matt black suitable for a contemporary living room?
A4. This model is supplied in matt black. The column form can work with traditional details or contemporary décor. Check finish samples or product images when coordinating with other fittings, since names alone do not guarantee an exact colour match.
Q5. Does a wider column radiator always suit a larger room?
A5. The Aura range includes Aura 1800mm-high vertical models in 380mm, 425mm and 470mm widths, in both 2-column and 3-column versions. This listing is specifically the 2-column, 470mm-wide model; compare verified outputs and mounting dimensions before selecting.
Q6. Can the vertical Aura be installed horizontally?
A6. This product is a vertical radiator. Install it in its specified orientation rather than rotating it; choose a model designed for the alternative orientation.
Which Valves do I need?
Pipework coming up from the floor + radiator connections on the side = Angled Valves Suitable for any pipework which comes up from beneath, through your floor or up from your skirting board.
Pipework coming up from the floor + radiator connections on the underneath side = Straight Valves. Best suited for pipework exiting from your floor or flexi-pipe up from your skirting board.
Pipework coming out from the wall + radiator connections on the side = Corner Valves (recommended) or Angled Valves If your pipework exits the wall the travels up to the radiator, Angled Valves will work best.
Pipework coming out from the wall + radiator connections on the underneath side = Corner Valves (recommended) or Angled Valves. You can also use Angled valves if you would like the valves to face forward.
